Overview The Social Media Manager is responsible for leading the WesternU College of Pharmacy’s (COP) social media presence and operations across all social media platforms. This role is responsible for developing and executing a digital content strategy, ensuring consistent coverage of COP events, including at-site or off-site recruitment, commencement, and other major events, and creating compelling content that showcases our program to prospective students, current students, alumni, domestic and international pipeline pathways, pharmacy partners, and the community. The ideal candidate will work to ensure that the COP website remains current by updating content as needed in conjunction with the dean’s office. The ideal candidate is a digital-savvy marketer who thrives in a collaborative and friendly environment and can balance independent creativity with performance-driven thinking. The Social Media Manager position will report to the COP Assistant Dean for External Relations in close collaboration with the COP Assistant Dean for Community Engagement and will be an integral part of the COP development group in the Dean’s Office. The ideal candidate will be expected to interact with the Marketing Department of the university under COP supervision. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proficiency with content creation tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar). Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook. Proficiency with social media tools (e.g. Hootsuite, Buffer, Meta Business Suite, etc.). Basic knowledge of social media analytics and ability to create performance reports. Knowledge of SEO and paid media advertising. Knowledge of social media analytics and ability to create and respond to performance reports. Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Professionalism and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, faculty, alumni, and staff. Demonstrated ability to create high-quality photography, video, and written content for multiple platforms. If available, resume must include a link to portfolio of work done. Ability to communicate effectively both with groups and individuals. Ability to handle detail-oriented assignments and maintain confidentiality. Required Qualifications Experience in graphic content design, managing organizational social media accounts for a brand, institution, or nonprofit. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
