Full Description

Building Sub Needed for New Haven High School - Hired through EduStaff. Must pass a background check. (Building Sub can be utilized at any of the districts' buildings as needed.) Position Summary: New Haven Community Schools is seeking a dedicated and flexible Building Substitute Teacher to provide instructional and classroom management support in the absence of regular classroom teachers. This position will serve across elementary, middle, and high school levels as needed to ensure continuity of student learning. Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Implement lesson plans left by the classroom teacher to maintain continuity of instruction. • Provide a structured and positive classroom environment conducive to learning. • Maintain classroom discipline and enforce school policies and procedures. • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests. • Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, lunchroom, playground, and during school-related activities as required. • Take daily attendance and complete necessary documentation related to student progress and behavior. • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administration. • Follow emergency procedures and school safety protocols. • Perform other related duties as assigned by building administration. Qualifications: • Minimum of 60 college credit hours from an accredited institution. • Michigan Substitute Teaching Permit (or eligibility to obtain one). • Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred. • Strong classroom management skills. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and grade levels. • Commitment to fostering a positive learning atmosphere. Work Schedule: • Full school day schedule, as assigned by the district. • Assignments may vary daily based on staffing needs. Compensation: • Competitive daily rate based on district guidelines. • Opportunity for long-term substitute assignments, if available.
