Maintenance Mechanic II The New Hampshire Veterans Home has a full-time, 3rd shift vacancy for a Maintenance Mechanic II. Make a difference in a Veteran's life! Summary: To perform skilled maintenance, installation and repair work on state buildings, equipment and grounds and to maintain the operating condition of machinery and equipment at the New Hampshire Veterans Home (NHVH). Your Experience Counts: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education. Minimum Qualifications Education/Experience: Equivalent combination of 2 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in general maintenance and repair work associated with one or more of the following areas: carpentry, electricity, painting, plumbing, masonry, sheet metal work, welding, auto repair or related trade experience. License/Certification: Valid drivers license Other Requirements: Must be willing and able to work holidays, weekends and varying shifts. Preferred Qualifications Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
