We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in dental assisting, with experience in both general and pediatric dentistry. This role involves working closely with the dental team to provide high-quality patient care, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the clinic. Responsibilities • Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques. • Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. • Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety standards. • Manage patient records accurately, including medical documentation and medical coding. • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. • Perform chairside assisting duties, including passing instruments and materials as needed. • Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for patient management and scheduling. • Monitor vital signs and assist in the administration of anesthesia as required. • Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures to effectively communicate with patients and staff. • Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures, ensuring a comfortable environment for young patients. Skills • Proficient in using EMR systems (Dentrix, Eaglesoft) for efficient patient management. • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and compliance. • Familiarity with various dental specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry. • Experience in chairside assisting and understanding of four-handed dentistry concepts. • Ability to perform medical imaging tasks using 3D scanners when necessary. • Strong understanding of infection control protocols within a dental clinic setting. • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, particularly in pediatric settings. • Ability to document medical records accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
