Full Description

The Head of Delivery will be a highly experienced and technically proficient senior leader responsible for overseeing the end-to-end execution and operational stability of our key healthcare cleint . This role demands a strong engineering foundation and expertise in IT applications and operations to drive technical excellence, coupled with significant exposure to Data & AI management to ensure reliable, high-quality, and compliant delivery across the entire business portfolio. The successful candidate will blend strategic vision with hands-on technical acumen to scale our delivery capabilities and uphold the highest standards of patient data security and service reliability. Key Responsibilities (Expanded) Engineering and Technical Leadership (Existing) • Strategic Delivery Ownership: Define, implement, and optimize the overall delivery strategy and framework for complex healthcare products, ensuring alignment with business goals, technical architecture, and regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH, FDA). • Technical Excellence: Provide senior-level technical oversight for development, architecture, and integration of solutions, leveraging a strong background in Agile processes, software engineering (e.g., cloud-native, full-stack, distributed systems) as well as healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., FHIR, HL7). • Process and Methodology: Champion Agile, Scrum, and DevOps principles, driving efficiency, automation (CI/CD), and high-velocity release cycles across all engineering teams. • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and manage technical risks, dependencies, and architectural roadblocks to maintain delivery predictability and quality. Data and AI Strategy & Enablement (Exposure to this is must have) • Data Governance & Quality: Ensure robust data pipelines and warehousing solutions are implemented with strong data governance, quality assurance, and lineage tracking, compliant with healthcare data management policies. • AI Platform Engineering: Oversee the development and operation of the MLOps platform to enable the repeatable, reliable, and compliant deployment of Machine Learning models (e.g., predictive analytics for patient outcomes, operational efficiency models). Ability to drive AI transformation is plus. • Integration with Clinical Systems: Direct the strategy for integrating AI/ML models and derived insights back into clinical workflows and EMR/EHR systems in a compliant and usable manner. • Data Security & Privacy: Lead initiatives to enforce data anonymization, pseudonymization, and secure access controls for sensitive patient data used in Data and AI initiatives. IT Applications and Operations Management (Good to have Expertise) • Application Portfolio Management: Oversee the operational health, maintenance, and technical roadmap of the entire application portfolio, ensuring stability, scalability, and cost efficiency. • Service Reliability Engineering (SRE): Establish and enforce Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Operational Level Agreements (OLAs). Implement SRE best practices to minimize downtime and ensure high availability for mission-critical patient care and administrative systems. • Security and Compliance Operations: Partner with security and compliance teams to manage audits, vulnerability remediation, and ensure all application and infrastructure operations strictly adhere to HIPAA Security and Privacy Rules and other relevant US healthcare regulations. • Vendor and Cloud Operations: Manage relationships and performance of key technology vendors and cloud infrastructure providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), optimizing cloud spend and operational performance. Team Leadership and Client Management (New Focus Area) • People Management & Talent Development: Recruit, mentor, and lead a diverse, multi-functional delivery team (Engineering, Ops, Data Science, QA). Foster a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and customer value. • Financial Accountability: Own the delivery P&L, managing budgets, resource allocation, utilization rates, and forecasting to ensure delivery profitability and financial health of the account. Required Experience & Qualifications • 12+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership, with at least 5 years in a Head of Delivery, VP of Engineering, or similar executive management role in services organizations preferred. • Proven experience within the US Healthcare industry is mandatory, including deep familiarity with clinical, financial, or administrative technology platforms. • Mandatory working knowledge of HIPAA/HITECH compliance and the constraints these regulations impose on software development, cloud architecture, and operations. • Strong background in IT Applications Operations and SRE principles, with a demonstrated ability to manage high-availability, mission-critical production systems. • Significant exposure to Data & AI/ML lifecycle management and MLOps platforms (e.g., Databricks, Azure ML, SageMaker). • Expert-level knowledge of Agile/Scrum/DevOps methodologies and modern software architecture (microservices, containerization, cloud-native solutions). • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical issues and strategies to both technical teams and C-suite stakeholders. • Experience managing large distributed teams and multi-vendor environments. • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
