Work at a Glance: Building Partnerships That Expand Reach and Impact Position Summary: The (Senior) Communications & Partner Engagement Manager formulates and implements an effective external relations plan in support of national visibility goals and overall NeighborWorks America strategic goals, focused primarily on partnership development, special events and other visibility tactics to internal, NeighborWorks network, and external audiences. 1. Brand Management & Messaging • Promote increased visibility and understanding of NeighborWorks America and its key components (NeighborWorks America, the NeighborWorks network, and NeighborWorks organizations) to strategic audiences throughout the region. • Develop and manage a regional external relations plan. • Ensure brand management and message consistency by creating and/or facilitating development of talking points, templates, brand signage, and publicity/marketing items. • Manage all regional strategic branding and visibility work and provide oversight to assure compliance with NeighborWorks Brand Manual and Style Guide. 2. Media Relations & Communications • Coordinate regional public relations programs and implement national communication projects, interfacing with media consultants and Communications & Marketing division staff. • Support the regional vice president in his/her role as NeighborWorks America spokesperson. • Amplify network and regional achievements within NeighborWorks, including internal reporting. • Support weekly production of the network-wide newsletter (NetWorks) and regional communications. 3. Event Strategy & Execution • Help manage the creation and execution of key special events, including strategic network tours, National NeighborWorks Week, and other regional/network visibility events. • Work closely with regional relationship and partnership functions to organize, execute, and market these events. • Support regional participation at conferences and other external events, including designing and coordinating workshops and speechwriting. 4. Resource Development & Network Support • Assist the Regional Vice President in resource development efforts and support corporate resource development efforts in the region. • Develop working relationships with all network organizations in the region and provide direct technical assistance in public relations, marketing, and resource development. • Design opportunities for learning and capacity building for network leadership using various methods and techniques. 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Interface with key national departments (NeighborWorks Training Institute, Public Policy and Legislative Affairs, Resource Development, Communications & Marketing, Office of the CEO) as needed. • Perform other relevant duties as required. Required Minimum Qualifications: • Education: College level degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field and/or equivalent relevant work experience. • Experience: • (Senior) Communications & Partner Engagement Manager: A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in public affairs, strategic communications, media relations, brand management, marketing strategy or other relevant fields. Experience in nonprofit, housing, or community development sectors is preferred. • Communications & Partner Engagement Manager: A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience. • Demonstrated significant and successful experience in implementation of external affairs strategies at management level. • High degree of effectiveness in designing and facilitating strategy and tactics in the area of public relations, in particular special events and media relations, to enhance capacity of network and regional staff. • Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal and inter-group relationships involving diverse populations. • Excellent written, auditory, and oral communication skills. • Demonstrated project management skills. • Demonstrated ability to work independently, strategically analyze conditions and maintain good judgment in an environment with a high degree of ambiguity. • Proven flexibility, resourcefulness, organization skills and ability to multitask, set priorities for multiple projects, meet deadlines under pressure and work both independently and as part of a team. • Proficient in computer applications relative to communication and marketing. • Ability to plan, organize and carry out communication projects. • Strong social media skills. Salary Range: • Communications & Partner Engagement Manager (8-10 years of experience) - $70K - $98K • (Senior) Communications & Partner Engagement Manager (10+ years of experience) - $77K - $108K The salary offered for the role will be based on a variety of factors, including geographic location, internal equity, and the candidate's qualifications/ professional experience. Requisition Close Date: 1/23/2026 Purpose of Division: The Field Operations Division of NeighborWorks America is responsible for delivering services, grants, and technical assistance to approximately 250 NeighborWorks organizations with the overall objective of sustaining a network of excellence that creates opportunities for people to live in affordable homes, improve their lives and strengthen their communities. The Field Operations Division is overseen by the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Field Operations, who is responsible for establishing the priorities and procedures for service delivery, grant programs and the identification of new affiliates. The primary relationship with NeighborWorks organizations is provided through the regional staff-- including the Regional Vice President (RVP), Senior Director, Relationship Managers, Communications & Partner Engagement Manager, Field Operations Managers, and Regional Operations Coordinators (RCs)-- across the division.
