100% Remote, Canada Experience: 8+ Years Contract: Short-term Role Summary: NearSource is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer (React + Cloud) to join a dynamic engineering team building next-generation XR workflows for the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry. This team operates in a start-up environment within a global software leader, driving immersive and collaborative solutions that redefine design and creation through virtual and augmented reality technologies. Key Responsibilities • Collaborate with product managers, experience designers, and software developers to research, prototype, and build high-performance web frontends for XR workflows. • Develop and maintain scalable, cloud-connected frontends integrated with XR applications. • Design and implement full-stack models, services, and deployment pipelines using modern JavaScript and cloud frameworks. • Build tools and applications enabling immersive collaboration for AEC users. • Ensure responsiveness, usability, and seamless integration between frontend and backend systems. • Contribute to an agile, fast-moving development environment while maintaining engineering excellence and quality. • Participate in peer reviews, processes, and deployment operations using industry-standard tools. Must-Have Skills • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field • 8+ years of professional software development experience • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript • Expertise in React.js or Next.js, with a deep understanding of modern frontend frameworks • Hands-on experience with HTML5, CSS, and RESTful APIs • Experience with real-time communication technologies (e.g., WebSockets) • Familiarity with Electron or Tauri for desktop web applications • Proficiency with services such as S3 • Strong version control skills using Git and GitHub • Exposure to systems like Travis • Proven ability to thrive in a start-up-style environment within large organizations • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Nice-to-Have Skills • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline • Experience with 3D or immersive web technologies such as Three.js or WebXR • Working knowledge of Tauri, or database systems (SQL and NoSQL) • Basic exposure to game engines and XR frameworks (AR, VR, MR) • Familiarity with distributed systems or cloud-native architectures Apply now, or share your resume with salary expectations at careers@nearsource.ca.
