PhD or strong Master's level experience in Public Health or related field, proficiency in implementation science frameworks and qualitative/quantitative analysis software, and strong communication skills.
Research Associate (Health Services Research) Location: Durham, NC (Hybrid or Remote options available) - Must be from the area and be able to come to Durham for meetings. Commitment: Up to 20 hours/week Duration: 6–12 months (with possibility of extension) Ideal for a senior PhD student or postdoc level with relevant experience About the Role We are seeking a Temporary Research Associate to join a dynamic team advancing work in Health Services Research and Implementation Science. This position supports the design, implementation, and analysis of evaluation and research activities using rigorous public health methods and evidence-based frameworks. Ideal for a current Ph.D. candidate or postdoctoral fellow, this role offers hands-on experience in applied research, evaluation, and community-focused health studies. What You’ll Do • Apply implementation science frameworks (e.g., RE-AIM, CFIR) to guide evaluation design and interpretation. • Design and analyze surveys, interviews, and focus groups. • Conduct qualitative data collection and analysis using NVivo or similar software. • Assist in developing evaluation protocols, data collection tools, and IRB submissions. • Prepare reports, presentations, and manuscripts for academic, policy, and community dissemination. • What You Bring • Ph.D. in Public Health, Health Services Research, Implementation Science, or related field • Master’s degree with strong experience will be considered. • Demonstrated experience applying implementation science frameworks such as RE-AIM. • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative analysis (NVivo, MAXQDA, Stata, R, or equivalent). • Strong background in survey design and methodology. • Excellent communication and writing skills for diverse audiences.
