Description Of Work The position is a Physical Therapy position located at Central Prison Healthcare Complex in Raleigh, which houses approximately 1318 close-custody male offenders. Employees Serve As Staff Therapists, Duties Performed Include Administering a wide variety of physical therapy treatments and supervising and instructing assistants, technicians, and other health personnel in areas pertaining to physical therapy. Performed under general supervision, with all treatments being prescribed by a physician and assignments made by a supervisor. Exercise initiative and discretion in formulating a scheduled program of treatments to meet the needs of individual patients. Review and evaluate by physicians, higher-level therapists, and/or medical directors through personal observation of work, analysis of reports, periodic conferences, and as evidenced by patients' progress. Knowledge Skills And Abilities/Management Preferences Recruitment Range: $69,027 - $91,461 Management Preferences • Considerable knowledge of physical therapy principles, techniques, methods, modalities, and their proper application. • Ability to instruct and supervise subordinate staff members and other medical personnel in physical therapy methods and techniques. • Ability to teach physical therapy treatments to patients. • Ability to prepare and evaluate reports. • Ability to work effectively with patients, medical, nursing, and other staff members. • This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. **Applicants must pass a background check to be eligible for this job.** Note to Current State Employees: State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position.
