Lead Emergency Communications Supervisor Location: Washington, DC Employment Type: Contract Job Summary A public safety agency in Washington, DC is seeking a Lead Emergency Communications Supervisor to manage personnel, operations, and systems within a PSAP/ECC. This role supports daily operational continuity and high-quality emergency response services. Essential Functions • Oversee communications personnel during assigned shifts • Evaluate staffing needs and assign resources appropriately • Review shift activity and operational performance reports • Ensure compliance with established procedures and regulatory requirements • Coordinate quality assurance and operational improvement efforts • Utilize and support CAD, radio, and telephony systems • Provide leadership and direction during emergency situations Minimum Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent • Two (2) or more years of experience in emergency communications • Prior lead or supervisory experience • Completion of 911 call taking and dispatch training Required Competencies • Strong knowledge of PSAP/ECC operations and E-911 technology • Ability to effectively supervise and evaluate staff • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to manage stress and make sound decisions during emergencies
