IT Support Specialist – Emergency Communications Location: Washington, DC Employment Type: Contract Job Summary A public safety communications center in Washington, DC is seeking an IT Support Specialist to assist with the maintenance and support of emergency communications technology. This role supports both operational and technical needs related to radio and IT systems critical to emergency response. Primary Responsibilities • Maintain and support emergency communications technology systems • Provide technical troubleshooting for hardware and software issues • Assist in system monitoring and performance evaluation • Support documentation, reporting, and data management activities • Work with internal teams to ensure continuity of technology operations Minimum Requirements • Bachelor’s degree required • Minimum 2 years of experience supporting technology systems in a professional setting Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Knowledge of IT hardware and software used in PSAP/ECC environments • Experience using spreadsheets, relational databases, and office software • Understanding of basic planning and modeling concepts • Strong analytical thinking and deductive reasoning skills • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly • Academic background in Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field
