The Sr. Compliance Analyst (Marketing) is responsible for reviewing marketing and customer communications for the In-School lending product. This role oversees partnership and affiliate marketing content reviews and may conduct independent testing of marketing practices, such as periodic reviews of social media posts, websites, and other media to ensure proper approvals. Additionally, this position supports internal and external audits by providing data, documentation, and responses, as well as training and mentoring marketing personnel on applicable laws and regulations. The position also performs the marketing section of compliance risk assessments. Our ideal candidate brings prior experience in compliance with financial consumer protection laws and regulations related to marketing. Knowledge of additional laws and regulations governing student loans is a plus. Strong initiative, the ability to work independently, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to interact effectively with management and team members at all levels. Areas of Responsibility: Provide compliance subject matter and risk management expertise to support the Marketing departments/divisions in addressing compliance risks Review marketing materials and customer communications for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Develop, implement, monitor and report on key performance indicators (‘KPIs”) around marketing activities including, but not limited to, setting up acceptable compliance approval time limits; Work with legal counsel. Work with the department responsible for complaints to monitor for complaints around marketing practices, e.g., UDAAP complaints. Assist the Complaint team in resolving complaints regarding marketing practices. Create and maintain a strong, proactive culture of compliance. Assist in identifying Compliance Risks and emerging issues applicable to ongoing and proposed business activities and marketing campaigns. Develop, implement, and maintain written policies/procedures and checklists designed to ensure compliant marketing operations. Ensure the timely update of policies/procedures and checklists as needed. Assist in designing processes that comply with the Laws and Regulations and emerging compliance trends, including creating and implementing effective manual and automated, preventive and detective internal controls around the marketing and customer communications functions. Develop and maintain expertise on the Laws and Regulations. Assist in developing and providing compliance-related training and other tools to help marketing employees fulfill their compliance responsibilities. Develop annual risk-based compliance testing plans and risk assessments around marketing activities. Monitor for changes in laws, regulations, products and services that may impact current or upcoming marketing campaigns and manage those changes. Execute and support Navient’s Compliance Management System as assigned. Assist in managing various audits and examinations with regard to collection of marketing materials requested. Report the level of Compliance Risk, significant Compliance Issues and risk trends to the Senior Director and appropriate Senior Management regarding marketing activities. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree. 4+ years of regulatory management or operational risk experience may substitute. At least 3 years direct experience in consumer compliance as well as a solid familiarity with consumer lending and fair lending laws. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Ability to understand complex regulatory requirements and analyze their impact on business operations. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage and prioritize competing assignments while meeting deadlines.
