Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting a Project Manager / Senior Hydrogeologist (3748). This is a short-term remote position with possible travel to the site. Navarro Research & Engineering is an award-winning federal contractor dedicated to partnering with clients to advance clean energy and deliver effective solutions for complex challenges in the nuclear and environmental fields. Headquartered in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Navarro has active programs in place across the nation for DOE/NNSA, NASA, and the Department of Defense. The candidate will be part of a holistic assessment of the NASA White Sands Test Facility (WSTF) groundwater monitoring program. Responsibilities include identifying redundancies or gaps in monitoring well coverage, highlighting areas with elevated contaminant concentrations requiring more aggressive remedial action, and determining sampling schedules that balance data needs with budget constraints in support of the WSTF environmental restoration program. Activities include defining and documenting the existing monitoring program, evaluating historical data, determining appropriate qualitative and/or quantitative evaluation approaches, applying industry-standard optimization tools, developing recommendations for optimal monitoring well distribution and sampling frequency, and preparing final assessment deliverables. Primary Role: Serves as the overall technical and managerial lead for the WSTF groundwater monitoring program assessment. Responsibilities: Provide overall project leadership and technical direction Serve as primary interface with the client Oversee hydrogeologic interpretation and monitoring optimization strategy Ensure integration of qualitative professional judgment and quantitative analyses Review and approve all technical deliverables Lead technical briefings and regulatory discussions as required PhD or MS in Hydrogeology, Geological Engineering, or related field 20+ years of groundwater investigation experience Extensive federal facility (DOE, NASA, or DoD) experience Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary A-E teams Deep expertise in fractured bedrock hydrogeologic systems Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
