Full Description

The Mission of a Roofing Estimator is to create accurate estimates and proposals that will generate a minimum gross margin to accomplish Annual Company Goals. Estimates will be developed based on comparisons from historical GSM work or knowledge acquired from personal experience. An Estimator will work with the Operations Team to manage the projects that they estimate. This role is also responsible for qualifying, cultivating and servicing customers and, when appropriate, performing roof surveys and/or reviewing drawings and calculating quantities and costs of roofing materials and labor for repair or replacement of new and/or re-roofing projects. This job is Safety-Sensitive. Safety-Sensitive jobs include tasks or duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others. These tasks and duties include, but are not limited to operating: material handling equipment, motorized vehicles, roofing equipment/machinery, power tools, working at height over four feet and working in confined spaces (or as prescribed by OSHA). Essential Job Functions: -Expand the customer base by developing new customer relationships and grow the relationships with existing customers. -Prepare a detailed labor and material take off and the associated pricing for the roofing services requested/required. -Analyze specifications and blueprints as prepared by professional architects, engineers and/or consultants to provide a cost estimate. -Perform rooftop surveys to collect the appropriate information to provide a cost estimate. -Prepare a written scope of work to be presented to the potential customer. -Upon award, prepare a work order, a "to do list," for the production department to follow. -Assist in the preparation of any required internal or external paperwork or submittals that may be required throughout the project. -Communicate project safety expectations. -Assist Operations in managing the project through completion. -Prepare any needed change order estimates during the course of the project. -The employee is also expected to perform such other duties and functions as required from time to time. Qualifications: -5 years of progressively responsible experience in the roofing or related construction-type industry. -Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications -Basic computer knowledge -Ability to communicate effectively with the customer and the production department APPLY
