## Key Role Overview Provide specially designed instruction to students with disabilities at Oakside Prep Academy in Waterford Township, MI, using resource room, inclusion, and pullout services. The role involves participating in targeted professional development for special education curriculum and data tracking tools while collaborating with instructional staff in a supportive coaching model. New staff are paired with a teacher mentor and the employer supports candidates through alternative certification when needed. ## What are the Key Responsibilities? - Provide specially designed instruction tailored to each student's disability via resource room, inclusion, and pullout services. - Participate in professional development specific to special education curriculum and data tracking tools. - Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and leadership to track student progress and implement interventions. - Maintain a safe and secure learning environment and utilize best-in-class curriculum and instructional tools. ## What are the Required Qualifications? - Hold a valid teacher license or meet alternative requirements; NHA will support candidates through alternative certification. - Ability to deliver specially designed instruction and use data tracking and assessment tools. - Willingness to work in a K-12 environment and engage in ongoing professional development. ## What are the Preferred Qualifications? - Prior experience in special education or working with students with disabilities (preferred but not explicitly required). - Experience with data tracking systems and advanced instructional tools (preferred). ## Compensation & Benefits - Eligible for a signing bonus up to $5,000. - Competitive pay and benefits at affordable rates. - Supportive coaching model with new staff paired with a teacher mentor. - Access to best-in-class curriculum, advanced instructional tools, and resources. - Recognitions and community partnerships (e.g., Detroit’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For; Partner of the Year for the Pontiac Regional Chamber of Commerce). ## Additional Information - Located in Waterford Township, MI; Oakside Prep Academy opened in 2013 and serves students K-12. - School consistently outperforms local districts on state assessments. - National Heritage Academies is an equal-opportunity employer. - Position is on-site at the school; new staff receive mentoring and ongoing professional development supports.
