Job Description Entry Level: Machine Operator - Injection Molding Location: Hoffman Estates, IL Company: Steven Plastics Inc. Company Overview Steven Plastics Inc. is an established manufacturer specializing in precision injection molding and custom plastic components. With decades of expertise, we deliver high-quality products across diverse industries including automotive, consumer goods, and industrial applications. We take pride in our technical excellence, ensuring quality parts are received by our customers and working as a team to ensure success for our customers and every member of the Steven Plastics Team. Position Summary We are seeking an Entry Level Machine Operator with some prior manufacturing or plastics experience. This role involves hands-on operation of injection molding machines, performing quality inspections, assisting with setup, and supporting daily production tasks. Candidates should be motivated, safety-conscious, and eager to learn technical skills in plastics manufacturing. Core Responsibilities • Operate Injection Molding Machines: Safely start, stop, and monitor electric and hydraulic machines during production. • Perform Quality Inspections: Check molded parts for defects and ensure they meet quality standards; report issues to supervisors. • Follow directions from Supervisor with Machine Setup: Ability to listen, take direction and complete responsibilities including asking for help. • Routine Maintenance: Keep machines and work areas clean, organized, and in safe operating condition. • Follow Safety Procedures: Adhere to all company safety protocols, including wearing protective eye coverings. • Track Production: Record production output, material usage, and process observations accurately. Pro-actively communicate with the Supervisor to ensure product quality on every piece. Required Skills and Qualifications • High school diploma or GED. • Previous experience in manufacturing or plastics production (6-12 months preferred). • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machine operation. • Strong attention to detail for quality inspection and process adherence. • Safety-conscious with commitment to workplace protocols. • Dependable, reliable, and motivated to grow in a technical role. • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs as needed. Preferred Qualifications • Exposure to injection molding, machining, or industrial equipment. • Familiarity with basic tools, measurement devices, or production processes. • Interest in developing a long-term career in plastics manufacturing.
