Job Details Job Location NDSS Washington D.C. - Washington, DC Secondary Job Location(s) Optional work from home - anywhere, DC Position Type Full Time Salary Range $55000.00 - $60000.00 Salary/year Job Category Nonprofit - Social Services JOB DESCRIPTION Title: Manager of Education & Employment Programs Report: Director of Community Programs Location: Washington, D.C., or remote Travel: Approximately 15% About the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS): The National Down Syndrome Society's (NDSS) mission is to create a world where individuals with Down syndrome thrive. Founded in 1979, NDSS empowers individuals with Down syndrome and their families by driving policy change, providing resources, engaging with local communities, and shifting public perceptions. The organization's work is carried out through three key areas of programming: Resources & Support, Policy & Advocacy, Research, and Community Engagement. For more information, visit www.ndss.org. Position Summary Reporting to the Director of Community Programs, the Manager of Education & Employment Programs is responsible for NDSS' education and employment program initiatives. The role collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop partnerships, resources, and campaigns that advance the employment of individuals with Down syndrome. This position will also ensure that NDSS is providing high-quality support and resources regarding education. Essential Functions and Responsibilities To perform in this position successfully, an individual must be able to independently perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. • Manage the creation of resources that support individuals with Down syndrome and equip educators, employers, and professionals with tools to implement best practices. • Develop and disseminate accessible resources that support individuals with Down syndrome in education and employment. • Support companies in hiring individuals with Down syndrome by creating resources, networking opportunities, and awareness campaigns. • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Team to create meaningful digital content for the website, email newsletters, and social media platforms. • Engage with companies, school systems, local affiliates, and other organizations to advance NDSS' education and employment priorities. • Provide useful referrals and resources to individuals who reach out to NDSS for educational and employment supports. • Represent NDSS at conferences, webinars, and workshops to expand relationships and promote the programs. • Manage the progress of funded projects and ensure appropriate documentation and status reporting. • Develop content for education and employment quarterly newsletters. • Provide support for education and employment-related topics at the Adult Summit. • Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience Requirements • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, major in education, disability, or related field is strongly preferred. • 3-5 years of professional work experience in a related field • Direct support to individuals with disabilities preferred • Project Management experience Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Strong organizational and time management skills • Excellent project management skills • Comfort with public speaking and constituent outreach • Proven ability to interact effectively and communicate well • Energetic with the ability to multitask • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong willingness to initiate deadlines and time frames for assignments, and to follow up on all delegated activities • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Proficient in Microsoft Office • Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships, while maintaining confidentiality • Demonstrated commitment to the mission and goals of NDSS
