Position Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated Bakery Operations Leader to guide and manage the day-to-day operations of our bakery. As the operational voice of the bakery, you will oversee everything from baking schedules and product innovation to budgeting and team management. This position requires a dynamic leader with a deep understanding of bakery operations, a keen eye for quality, and a commitment to delivering outstanding products and exceptional customer experiences. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, embraces tradition, and drives change. You will be the backbone of our bakery’s operations, ensuring that everything runs smoothly from the kitchen to the counter. Key Responsibilities: • Operational Leadership: • * Lead day-to-day operations of the bakery, ensuring that all activities are aligned with our vision and mission. • Manage the baking team, including staffing, scheduling, and training to maintain a productive, positive, and professional work environment. • Serve as the “voice” of the bakery, making sure all staff are aligned with the bakery’s values, vision, and customer experience goals. • Baking & Production Schedule: • * Oversee daily and weekly baking schedules, ensuring production is in line with demand while maintaining high product quality. • Create and innovate seasonal, special, and signature baked goods that appeal to the local community and attract new customers. • Ensure the bakery operates efficiently, minimizing waste, and maximizing productivity. • Product Quality Control: • * Monitor all products for consistency, flavor, texture, and presentation. Conduct regular quality checks to ensure standards are met. • Work closely with the team to improve product offerings and ensure customer satisfaction. • Lead the development of new products, collaborating with staff for creative ideas and customer feedback. • Budgeting & Financial Management: • * Develop and manage the bakery’s budget, including forecasting expenses and sales. • Control costs related to ingredients, labor, and overhead while optimizing profit margins. • Implement cost-saving measures where appropriate and ensure profitability without sacrificing quality. • Vendor & Stock Management: • * Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to source high-quality ingredients and supplies. • Manage inventory levels, place orders, and ensure timely delivery of products. • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and market prices to ensure the best value for the bakery. • Staff Management & Development: • * Hire, train, and mentor bakery staff, fostering a culture of growth, respect, and collaboration. • Schedule shifts based on bakery needs, seasonal demands, and employee availability. • Provide continuous feedback and motivation to ensure staff morale and productivity remain high. • Customer & Community Engagement: • * Ensure exceptional customer service standards are upheld, offering a warm, welcoming environment for all customers. • Build relationships with local businesses and the community to enhance the bakery’s visibility and reputation. • Promote the bakery through social media and local marketing initiatives. Qualifications: • Experience in bakery operations, food production, or a similar field. • Proven leadership experience, with a strong ability to manage teams and motivate staff. • Strong understanding of baking processes, product quality control, and inventory management. • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Experience with budgeting, cost control, and vendor management. • Creativity and passion for developing new products and enhancing the bakery’s offerings. • A collaborative, hands-on leadership style and the ability to take initiative and make decisions. • Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and hygiene in accordance with health regulations. • A strong voice to advocate for the bakery’s values, vision, and goals to staff, vendors, and customers alike. Preferred Qualifications: • Culinary or Baking Arts degree or certification. • Experience in managing a small business or family-owned establishment. • Familiarity with local food trends and customer preferences.
