Assist NAEHD in developing grant proposals, creating templates, and refining narratives to enhance their funding capacity.
Proven experience in grant writing, nonprofit program development, and strategic communication, with a strong understanding of health disparities and underserved communities.
This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections. I am seeking a skilled volunteer to help the National Alliance on Ending Health Disparities (NAEHD) strengthen and expand our grant writing capacity. NAEHD is a national non-profit organization committed to ending health disparities in rural, marginalized, underserved, and many other communities through research, education, and advocacy. We are preparing to pursue several healthcare related funding opportunities in the coming weeks, and a skilled volunteer partner would help us develop clear, compelling, and funder aligned proposals that reflect our mission and the communities we serve. This project will include: Drafting and refining grant narratives for healthcare, rural health, food access, and other initiatives serving under‑supported and marginalized communities Developing reusable boilerplate language such as organizational overviews, mission statements, need statements, and general program descriptions Reviewing eligibility criteria and shaping strong, defensible responses aligned with funder priorities Editing and polishing existing drafts to ensure consistency, coherence, and alignment with industry best practices Helping create a small library of templates including budgets and standard attachments as time allows The volunteer would collaborate with me directly for as much time that is needed throughout the duration of the project. My goal is to build and other funding opportunities. This project directly strengthens NAEHD’s ability to pursue the funding we need to advance our mission of ending health disparities through research, education, and advocacy in rural, marginalized, underserved, and other communities. Strong grant materials allow us to move faster, compete for more opportunities, and build programs that create real change on the ground. By supporting our grant writing capacity, the volunteer is helping us expand our work and reach more people and communities that have been under supported for far too long. Their time and skills will translate into more resources, stronger programs, and a greater ability for NAEHD to drive the systems‑level change our mission drives. I’ve already pulled together all of our existing grant materials, organizational language, and background documents so the volunteer can jump in without delays. As the Founder and CEO, I’ll be the one working directly with the volunteer, which means I am ready to make fast decisions, provide clear direction, and consistent communication. I’ve also mapped out the upcoming funding opportunities and deadlines, so the work we produce will be used immediately. Everything created through this project will go straight into our "grant vault" and strengthen our capacity for future submissions and applications. National Alliance on Ending Health Disparities Mission: The National Alliance on Ending Health Disparities (NAEHD) mission is to support and empower individuals, healthcare professionals, and decision makers through research, education, and advocacy initiatives to eliminate health disparities in all communities.
