Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented part-time Grant Writer to join our grant writing team at our non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in securing funding to support our programs and initiatives. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to meaningful community development through effective grant proposal writing, research, and strategic planning. The Grant Writer will collaborate closely with program staff and management to develop compelling proposals that align with our mission and goals. Duties • Research potential funding sources, including government agencies, foundations, and corporate donors, utilizing databases such as Raiser's Edge. • Develop, write, and submit grant proposals and applications that clearly articulate project objectives, strategies, and anticipated outcomes. • Manage grant contracts from initial submission through award receipt, ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations. • Prepare detailed financial reports, progress reports, and program development documentation for funders. • Maintain accurate records of grants submitted, awarded, and pending using contract management systems. • Collaborate with program teams to gather necessary data and develop compelling narratives for proposals. • Proofread and edit proposals for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to funder guidelines. • Assist in strategic planning efforts related to fundraising initiatives and program development. • Support the organization’s overall fundraising efforts by identifying new opportunities and cultivating relationships with funders. Requirements • Proven experience in grant proposal writing, including successful track record of securing funding for non-profit organizations. • Strong research skills with the ability to identify new funding opportunities across various sectors. • Excellent writing skills with proficiency in technical writing, editing, proofreading, and financial report writing. • Familiarity with databases such as Raiser's Edge or similar CRM systems used for tracking grants and donor information. • Knowledge of contract management processes and compliance requirements related to grants. • Ability to develop clear program descriptions, budgets, and strategic plans aligned with organizational goals. • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple deadlines simultaneously. • Experience in fundraising strategies, budgeting, and program development is highly desirable. • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
