Title: Senior Project Manager – Solar Energy Projects Position Type: Direct Hire Location: Novi, MI Key Project Requirements: • 8+ years of project management experience supporting utility-scale energy infrastructure projects from development through commissioning. • Strong background managing EPC contractors, engineering firms, project schedules, budgets, and stakeholder relationships. • Experience supporting utility-scale solar projects strongly preferred; experience with BESS, gas generation, nuclear, or other large energy infrastructure projects is highly desirable. • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline required. Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager – Energy Infrastructure to lead the execution of utility-scale energy infrastructure projects for a growing project development company headquartered in Novi, Michigan. This role will oversee projects from engineering and preconstruction through construction, commissioning, and commercial operation while coordinating EPC contractors, engineering consultants, utilities, and project stakeholders. The ideal candidate has a strong background delivering large capital projects and is comfortable managing multiple phases of project execution in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Lead utility-scale energy infrastructure projects from development and engineering through construction, commissioning, startup, and commercial operation. • Manage EPC contractors, engineering consultants, vendors, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. • Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and project forecasts. • Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure successful project execution. • Review engineering deliverables, construction progress, change orders, contractor schedules, and project documentation. • Identify project risks, critical path activities, and implement mitigation strategies to maintain project objectives. • Coordinate with utilities, permitting agencies, regulatory authorities, and other external stakeholders. • Provide routine project status updates to executive leadership and support project financial reporting. • Support project turnover activities and transition completed facilities to operations. • Promote safe work practices while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget objectives. Job Requirements: • Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, contractor management, contract administration, and project controls. • Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams. • Working knowledge of utility interconnection, permitting, and regulatory processes for large infrastructure projects. • Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar project scheduling software. • Experience with construction management platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, or equivalent. • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment. • Willingness to travel approximately 25% based on project requirements. Education / Experience: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline; equivalent industry experience may be considered. • 8+ years of project management experience supporting utility-scale energy infrastructure, power generation, renewable energy, energy storage (BESS), industrial, or similar capital projects. • Experience managing projects on behalf of an owner, developer, EPC contractor, or engineering firm. • Utility-scale solar development and construction experience strongly preferred. • PMP certification and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
