Job Overview NAES is seeking an experienced individual for a Remote Operations Center (ROC) Manager position for our Performance, Diagnostics, and Operations Center (PDOC). Our Performance, Diagnostic, and Operations Center (PDOC) monitors and diagnoses early failure modes to prevent further propagation, thus preventing higher costs of repairs, increase revenue loss, and unplanned outages. The PDOC will also perform selected remote operations of power generation and production facilities, including renewables. The role is a critical component of the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team that is responsible for the reliability of our power generation fleet including leadership in the areas of condition-based maintenance through predictive analytics and collaboration with product and service Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to facilitate response directives. Job Responsibilities The Remote Operations Center (ROC) Manager is responsible for overseeing the centralized monitoring, control, and optimization of power generation assets across the fleet. This role ensures reliable, efficient, and compliant operation of facilities through 24/7 real-time oversight, operational coordination, and data-driven decision-making. This position will lead the team that is responsible to monitor and operate thermal and renewable power generation and production assets. The team will utilize predictive tools to analyze equipment performance and evaluate trends to develop actionable recommendations to site operations. Responsibilities include the following; however, other duties may be assigned as needed. • Lead, manage, and develop a team of Remote Operations Center Operators responsible for real-time monitoring and control of multiple generation facilities • Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operation of assets in accordance with NERC, OSHA, and environmental regulations • Oversee daily operational performance, alarms, and events—providing timely direction to field operators or plant personnel as needed • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, escalation protocols, and communication frameworks between the ROC and site teams • Analyze operational data to identify trends, performance deviations, and opportunities for optimization • Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and IT/OT teams to support plant reliability and cybersecurity initiatives • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance ROC efficiency, situational awareness, and automation capabilities • Manage staffing schedules to ensure continuous 24/7 coverage and operational readiness • Provide training, mentoring, and performance feedback to ROC staff • Support event investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action tracking • Participate in budget planning, capital project reviews, and operational readiness for new or acquired facilities • Recruit, develop, and train the PDOC team • Manage and coach team members to meet objectives and goals • Oversee the implementation of predictive models and algorithms • Establish and maintain monitoring plan for health of the contracted facilities • Oversee investigation to evaluate and develop corrective actions to address adverse trends • Oversee remote monitoring and operations of thermal performance of facility systems and prepare reports Working Relationships This role reports to the VP Group Controller and will work collaboratively with various individuals at the corporate office in Issaquah and strategic business units. Compensation The initial compensation will range from $133,500 - $153,500. Required Skills / Knowledge • Experience with SCADA, DCS, or other industrial control systems • Demonstrated understanding of generation technologies (e.g., natural gas, combined cycle, solar, wind, battery storage) • Functional understanding of operating in a medium impact NERC/CIP environment • A thorough demonstrated understanding of power plant and production operations, including a working knowledge of the O&M function • Working knowledge of CMMS (e.g., Maximo, SAP PM) and digital asset management systems • A strong understanding and commitment to Quality Management Systems and Programs • A thorough, demonstrated knowledge of energy facility operations, O&M contracts, and management methods are necessary to control and improve the business • Understanding of budgets, bid proposals, contract evaluation, and basic accounting principles, plant economics, and power pool and energy market operations • Analyze and interpret data to make sound professional judgements and recommendations • Ability to manage and motivate teams Experience • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Power Generation Technology, or a related technical discipline required (or equivalent experience) • Minimum of 7 years of experience in power plant operations, control room management, or system operations; at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role • Prior experience in a Remote Operations Center or Fleet Operations environment • Experience with renewables integration or hybrid energy systems (e.g., solar + storage) Education Requirements • Bachelor’s in engineering or commensurate experience overseeing production facilities Physical Requirements • Office based • Position may require on-call availability and occasional travel to generation sites • Work is performed in a control room and office environment, with extended periods of computer-based monitoring • May involve rotating schedules to support 24/7 operations as needed • Limited travel may be required to meet with Facility Managers, Owner Representatives and for Corporate and Industry meetings and events Fit for Duty All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
