Job Summary My Extended Team (M-E-T) is hiring a detail-oriented and experienced Remote Medical Biller to support our growing network of healthcare providers. This role is ideal for a motivated individual who understands billing workflows and can clearly communicate financial responsibilities to patients with professionalism and empathy. Experience with eClinicalWorks (ECW) is highly preferred, and we’re looking for someone who can operate independently in a remote environment while collaborating with front-office and clinical teams to ensure smooth and timely revenue cycle operations. Key Responsibilities • Review patient records and provider documentation for accurate charge capture and proper coding • Process insurance claims and follow up on outstanding or denied claims • Verify insurance coverage and benefits related to procedures and services • Communicate with patients about their balances, insurance plan details, and out-of-pocket costs • Respond to billing inquiries from patients or practice staff professionally and clearly • Maintain billing records and documentation in alignment with HIPAA and compliance regulations • Collaborate with medical assistants and providers to clarify documentation and correct billing errors • Track accounts receivable and escalate issues to project managers or providers when necessary • Use EMR/EHR systems (preferably ECW) and standard billing platforms to manage patient accounts Qualifications & Requirements • Minimum 1 year of medical billing experience required • Experience with eClinicalWorks (ECW) strongly preferred • Familiarity with insurance carriers, CPT codes, modifiers, and basic medical terminology • Ability to explain complex billing concepts (deductibles, co-insurance, out-of-pocket) to patients • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • High level of professionalism and discretion with patient data (HIPAA compliance) • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and billing software • Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States • Reliable internet connection and private workspace Bonus Qualifications • Bilingual (Spanish/English or other languages) • Prior experience supporting mental health, primary care, or specialty practices • Understanding of CMS-1500 and UB-04 claim forms Ready to help providers get paid faster and bring clarity to patient billing?
