ABOUT THE ROLE Within guidelines and general supervision, performs multiple quality control functions in support of the Bank Operations department (ACH, Wire, Deposit Operations). The specific duties assigned to this individual within the area of bank operations may change from time to time, based upon the specific requirements of the bank, and most likely will include special projects as they arise. The individual must be proactive in performing the duties specifically assigned. This position performs daily operational tasks that are mostly complex in nature. Demonstrates analytical capabilities while performing tasks, including assessing and proactively mitigating risk and potential losses to the Bank. Demonstrates a high level of commitment to service quality and teamwork. WHAT YOU'LL DO • Draft and implement procedures and processes ensuring adherence to departmental quality control standards. • Demonstrate extensive payment knowledge (ACH) according to bank policies, NACHA rules (ACH) and general banking regulations. • Perform departmental control matrix review and validation on a monthly basis for ACH Operations. • Proactively identify and modify procedures to increase level of service, reduce risk to the bank and promote efficiency in operations functions. • Handle escalations as assigned by management. • Monitor urgent payment requests from external departments. • Provide support to peer staff as first escalation point of contact to ensure quality and timeliness of ACH Operations processes. • Ensure client satisfaction through superior knowledge, courtesy, professionalism, responsiveness, accuracy, and communication for customer-based transactions. • Perform the duties assigned independently and efficiently to support the overall goals of bank. • Assist with annual procedure and process map approvals. • Handle beta testing for all projects. • Assist with contingency planning testing. • Ensure compliance with all Bank policies, procedures and processes, and all applicable state and federal banking laws, rules and regulations. EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE • Minimum of 6 years of related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience in payments (ACH, Wires, Deposit Operations). Work-related experience should consist of a minimum of 6 years of operational experience in a financial institution within operations, sales or customer service background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related. • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and back-up team lead with work distribution. • Effectively analyze large amounts of data and call out trending patterns. • Ability to identify gaps and implement identified solutions for process improvements. • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Outlook. • Handle all beta testing and control matrix testing (enhancing the controls if necessary). • Provide subject matter expertise when implementing new processes for client onboarding. • Effective communication skills with the ability to apply logical and critical thinking while executing leadership directions, interpreting documents, understanding procedures, writing reports and correspondence, and speaking with customers and employees. • Comfortable adapting to changing scenarios and complex situations involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations. • Escalation coverage - ability to handle escalations on behalf of management when needed. • Ability to learn, comprehend and define new systems and processes. • Knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and Bank operation polices. • Accredited certification in payments processing preferred (AAP; CPP).
