The Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg, seeks a strategic, results-oriented, and relationship-driven Institutional Giving Manager to serve as the cornerstone of our institutional giving efforts. This pivotal role is responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive strategy to secure significant support from corporations, foundations, and government agencies. The ideal candidate is a master storyteller, a skilled negotiator, and a proactive leader who will cultivate a robust portfolio of partners, manage the full grant lifecycle, and build a dynamic corporate membership program. Your work will directly enable groundbreaking exhibitions, vital educational initiatives, and the strategic growth of one of Florida’s premier cultural institutions. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES Institutional Giving & Strategic Partnerships • Grant Development & Management: Research, write, and submit compelling, data-driven grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports to foundations, corporations and government agencies. Manage a comprehensive grants calendar, ensuring flawless compliance with all deadlines and deliverables by coordinating closely with finance, program, and curatorial departments. • Portfolio Management: Develop and manage a high-potential portfolio of corporate and foundation donors and prospects. Lead the full donor cycle (identification, research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship) with a focus on securing and renewing multi-year, transformational gifts. • Program Development: Design, implement, and grow a structured corporate membership and sponsorship program. Create compelling value propositions and bespoke partnership packages that align corporate objectives with the MFA’s exhibitions, events, and educational programs. Community Engagement & Strategic Liaison • Relationship Building: Proactively establish, nurture, and expand relationships with a broad spectrum of community entities, including local, regional, and national corporations, small businesses, community leaders and governmental agencies. • Strategic Representation: Represent the MFA with excellence at community events, business associations, and networking functions to elevate our profile and identify new partnership opportunities. • Cross-Sector Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison between the museum and the business community, identifying opportunities for innovative collaborations beyond philanthropy, including in-kind support, employee engagement, and cause-related marketing. General Development & Strategic Collaboration • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the Director of Development and other team members to ensure a coordinated and strategic approach to identifying, researching, and engaging high-capacity institutional and individual prospects. • Event Participation: Support and actively participate in donor cultivation and recognition events, including corporate receptions, foundation site visits, and sponsor recognition activities. • Database Management: Maintain impeccable, up-to-date records of all proposals, communications, and deadlines in the donor database (Altru). QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Education/Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Non-profit Management, Communications, Business Administration, Arts Management). Master's degree a plus. • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in grant writing, corporate/foundation relations, institutional giving, or non-profit development, with a proven track record of success. • Proven track record of securing 5- and 6-figure grants and sponsorships • Experience with donor databases (Altru strongly preferred) and grant management systems. • Thorough knowledge of fundraising compliance, reporting standards, and best practices in institutional giving. Skills and Abilities: • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to craft persuasive, clear, and concise proposals, reports, and presentations for diverse audiences. • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build rapport, influence, and maintain long-term relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, from corporate executives to community leaders. • Highly organized with strong project management skills, capable of managing multiple deadlines, complex projects, and competing priorities with meticulous attention to detail. • Strategic thinker with strong research and analytical skills to identify and evaluate new funding and partnership opportunities. • Proactive, collaborative, and results-oriented approach to working effectively with internal teams (staff, trustees) and external partners (donors, community leaders). • Passion for the arts and a deep commitment to the museum’s mission and its role in the community. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). LOCATION REQUIREMENTS & WORK SCHEDULE • MFA office hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 am – 5:30 pm. • Occasional weekend and evening work will be required for events and donor cultivation. • This position requires all hours to be fulfilled onsite. • At time of employment, employees are expected to be located within commuting distance of the museum. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time operating a computer and other offices productivity devices such as a calculator, telephone, and copy machine • Must be able to adapt to high pace environments occasionally moving/lifting light weight equipment and other work-related objects up to 25lbs • May have to work late nights, weekends and in outdoor weather • All current MFA St. Petersburg employees are vaccinated against Covid-19.
