Request for Proposals (RFP) Position: Full-Time Temporary Admin Associate (Consultant) Project: National City Southeast San Diego Green Corridor – Neighborhood Access and Equity (NAE) Grant Compensation: $80,000 annually (paid through grant reimbursement) Term: Temporary, Full-Time (anticipated through July 2027) Issued by: Mundo Gardens 1. Background Mundo Gardens is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to reconnecting communities, advancing environmental justice, and promoting local green workforce opportunities. Mundo Gardens currently manages a $2 million federal Neighborhood Access and Equity (NAE) Grant, supporting the Green Corridor initiative in National City and Southeast San Diego. The Green Corridor project focuses on equitable planning, community engagement, and sustainable development to reconnect neighborhoods historically divided by infrastructure. We are seeking a Full-Time Temporary Admin Associate (Consultant) to provide administrative, coordination, and communications support for the Green Corridor NAE Grant. 2. Scope of Work The Admin Associate will serve as a consultant supporting the administrative and programmatic functions of the NAE Green Corridor project. Primary responsibilities include: • Administrative & Grant Management: • Support grant documentation, compliance tracking, and reporting requirements. • Maintain project files, contacts, and communication logs. • Assist with budget tracking, invoicing, and reimbursement documentation. • Meeting & Event Coordination: • Schedule and organize community meetings, task force sessions, and workshops. • Prepare meeting materials, agendas, and notes. • Coordinate logistics for both virtual and in-person gatherings. • Communications & Outreach: • Support social media, newsletter, and website communications related to the project. • Develop outreach materials and public communications for events and updates. • Grant Writing & Reporting: • Assist in preparing funding proposals, reports, and documentation. • Help ensure compliance with federal grant requirements. • Collaboration & Stakeholder Support: • Coordinate with project partners, consultants, and community-based organizations. • Support resident and partner engagement activities and community outreach efforts. 3. Qualifications Required: • Strong administrative and project coordination experience. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and virtual collaboration tools. • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with community partners. Preferred: • Experience working with federally funded or nonprofit grants. • Familiarity with community development, environmental justice, or sustainability projects. • Background in communications, public administration, or community engagement. • Familiarity or connection to South San Diego and the National City/Southeast San Diego region. 4. Compensation and Terms • Annual Rate: $80,000 (consultant rate) • Contract Type: Consultant (Independent Contractor Agreement) • Funding Source: Paid through federal NAE Grant reimbursement • Hours: Full-time equivalent (approximately 35–40 hours per week) • Term: Temporary position through July 2027 • Work Location: Southeast San Diego and National City; requires in-person meetings and events 5.
