Program Finance Officer Department: Multiplier CORE Team Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Remote Compensation: $150,000 - $160,000 / year Description ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: Multiplier’s mission is to accelerate impact for initiatives focused on protecting and fostering a healthy, sustainable, resilient, and equitable world. POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Finance Officer (PFO) plays a vital role in financial management and stewardship of a diverse portfolio of Multiplier projects. This position is responsible for complex budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Serving as a strategic partner to project teams, the PFO provides accurate financial data and guidance to support informed decision-making. Additionally, the PFO contributes to organizational leadership by helping shape policies and procedures that accelerate mission outcomes. Primary Responsibilities 1. Financial Advisement & Capacity Building Serve as a trusted partner in shaping financial strategy and informed decision-making on resource allocation. Provide tailored guidance in alignment with project lifecycle, priorities, and financial health. Strengthen project team financial literacy and capabilities in budgeting, cash flow planning, and financial reporting. 2. Financial Oversight & Reporting Prepare, analyze, and present project monthly financial reports for a portfolio of projects. Meet regularly with project leadership to review financial performance. Track spending patterns and budget-to-actual variances. Build financial models, forecasts, and multi-year financial growth plans. Identify cash flow concerns and craft resolution strategies. 3. Revenue Strategy & Stewardship Review budgets for grant proposals and advise on pricing for fee-for-service contracts. Steward a complex set of restricted awards. Ensure timely and accurate submission of grant-related financial reports. Manage award budget revisions and term extensions. 4. Shared Leadership & Collaboration Contribute to a culture of mutual service and cross-team collaboration. Partner closely with finance, accounting, contracts, grants, and project teams. Support systems upgrades and technology innovation. Seek opportunities for automation and efficiency. Lead financial aspects of project onboarding/offboarding. Assist new projects and new project directors in navigating internal systems and structures. Other duties that are reasonable and consistent with this position. Working understanding of nonprofit generally accepted accounting principles. Familiarity with nonprofit earned income revenue models including service fees, dues, and sales. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and visualization. Experience with data entry and reporting in nonprofit fund accounting systems. Proven track record managing multiple high-priority tasks while delivering high-quality results. Flexible, solutions-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach to problem-solving. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English. Spanish language skills a plus. Exceptional ability to facilitate critical conversations around sensitive financial matters with professionalism and care. Workplace, Compensation & Application Workplace & Travel: All employees work from home offices with occasional travel (1-2 times per year) for all-team in-person meetings. Compensation: Multiplier provides a comprehensive compensation package, including competitive salary ($150,000-160,000 annual salary), excellent medical and dental benefits, retirement savings, and generous vacation and sick leave policy.
