As a Product Owner, you’ll play a critical role in driving the Debit Modernization initiative while maintaining and optimizing our legacy debit authorization systems – the backbone of our ATM and payment infrastructure. This is a high-impact role where you’ll collaborate with senior leaders, influence strategic decisions, and help deliver innovative solutions that power millions of transactions every day. What You’ll Do This is a dual-focused role with responsibilities across two key areas: 1. Debit Modernization (Strategic & Evolving): Partner with Product Management and technology teams to define and refine the product vision and roadmap. Lead backlog creation and prioritization for modernization initiatives, including API enablement and integration. Drive Solution Planning and PI Planning for this large-scale Agile initiative. Collaborate across multiple delivery teams to ensure alignment and transparency. 2. Legacy Debit Authorization Suite (Stable & Critical): Own and maintain the backlog for our legacy debit systems (ATH/CMS/PST). Ensure continuous backlog grooming and prioritization to meet business and technology needs. Support ongoing enhancements and stability for core debit processing. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Facilitate backlog refinement sessions and Agile ceremonies. Write clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria. Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring features deliver real business value. Influence without authority – partnering with senior business and technology leaders. Use data and design thinking to inform decisions and measure outcomes. What You’ll Bring Education and Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience. 6+ years in business, analytical, technical, and/or product experience. Education and Experience Preferred: 2+ years as a Product Owner in an Agile environment (Scrum or Kanban). Strong experience with Agile routines, Solution Planning, and PI Planning. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience with API enablement and development (Java, .NET, or similar). Strong understanding of mainframe development and interconnectivity across the environment. Background in debit processing, core banking, or fintech. Familiarity with design thinking and digital product development. Servant leadership mindset; ability to coach and mentor teams. Experience working on large-scale modernization initiatives. Why You’ll Love It Here Impact: Your work will directly influence the future of our debit platform. Visibility: Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
