We're seeking a dynamic leader to drive our towing operations to new heights. The Role As the Towing Operations Manager, you'll oversee our towing division, including a fleet of ~45 trucks (light to heavy-duty, including tractor-trailers) and a team of ~50 drivers and dispatchers. You'll run the department like your own business, managing P&L, operations, and team performance while collaborating with other departments (automotive shop, collision center, heavy fleet repair). This role requires a hands-on leader with deep towing industry experience, ready to jump in, lead by example, and boost team morale. Key Responsibilities • Manage a fleet of ~45 trucks, ensuring maintenance and operational readiness. • Lead ~50 staff (hiring, firing, training, dispatching) across two entities: our main towing operation and a smaller subsidiary (~7-8 trucks). • Oversee P&L, margins, and profitability (~$800K-$1M monthly revenue); meet targets (e.g., 60% gross profit, 10% net profit). • Handle contracts, bids, and inter-departmental collaboration (e.g., with accounting). • Supervise complex jobs (e.g., accident recoveries) and operate equipment as needed. • Build and optimize a support team to streamline operations. • Ensure compliance with safety programs and operational deadlines. Must-Haves • Proven towing industry experience, including operating heavy-duty trucks and supervising complex recoveries. • Strong management experience (leading teams, hiring/firing). • Financial acumen (P&L management, profitability, budgeting). • Ability to earn respect through hands-on expertise and leadership. Nice-to-Haves • Knowledge of fleet maintenance (basic understanding of service needs; mechanics on staff). • Experience with diverse hauling or out-of-state operations. • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and boost team morale.
