The Health and Safety Specialist plays a key role in promoting a safe, compliant, and proactive work environment across all project sites. This position is responsible for monitoring regulatory compliance, identifying workplace risks, and driving continuous improvement in health and safety practices to protect employees and operations. Schedule: 12pm-8pm Key Responsibilities • Monitor and enforce compliance with occupational health and safety regulations at the local, state, and federal levels • Perform regular site audits and assess work practices to identify potential hazards • Investigate workplace incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns; document findings and maintain required records • Design, deliver, and maintain health and safety training programs for employees and leadership teams • Ensure safety protocols are followed during installation, maintenance, and repair activities • Oversee environmentally compliant handling and disposal of materials and substances • Communicate safety requirements clearly to ensure understanding of applicable laws, standards, and codes • Stop unsafe behaviors or work activities that present immediate risk or fall outside compliance standards • Implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce future safety incidents • Verify consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE) across all job sites • Partner with department leaders to deliver ongoing safety education and awareness initiatives • Lead accident investigations and safety violation reviews in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements • Revise safety policies and procedures to reflect regulatory updates and operational changes • Maintain flexibility to support operations during off-hours, including nights or weekends, as needed • Complete additional responsibilities as assigned Required Skills and Competencies • Strong ability to recognize hazards and evaluate risk across varied work environments, including equipment, chemicals, ergonomics, and facility conditions • Proven experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analyses • Ability to interpret safety data, identify trends, and assess program effectiveness • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills • Working knowledge of emergency response procedures and preparedness planning • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint Professional Attributes • Highly organized with strong attention to detail • Analytical thinker with sound judgment and problem-solving capability • Adaptable to changing regulations, operational demands, and industry best practices • Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset • Proactive approach to identifying and implementing safety enhancements Education and Experience • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Public Administration, or a related discipline - or equivalent hands-on experience • At least two years of experience supporting or managing workplace safety and regulatory compliance programs • Knowledge of state and local regulations related to fire prevention, hazardous materials, environmental protection, building and electrical codes, noise control, and loss prevention Compensation and Benefits • $28.00 - $35.00 per hour • Competitive Market Wages • Paid Time Off (vacation, sick, and holiday) • Employee Assistance Program • Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance Plans • Employee Assistance Program • Tuition Reimbursement Program • Employee Recognition Programs • Employee PV Panel Purchase Program
