We’re hiring a Ruby on Rails Engineering Manager to lead backend development for a fast-growing iGaming company operating in regulated US markets. This is a full time, remote role focused on building and scaling high availability Ruby on Rails platforms that support real money gaming, payments, player accounts, and promotions. The tech stack is centered on Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, AWS, and event-driven services, supporting thousands of concurrent users in real time. This is a chance to own and shape the core platform of a rapidly expanding iGaming product not just manage tickets. You’ll lead a smart, motivated engineering team while still staying close to the code and architectural decisions that matter. The #1 draw? Real scale and real impact. Required Skills & Experience • Strong experience with Ruby on Rails in production environments • Previous experience as an Engineering Manager or Technical Lead • Experience building and scaling high-traffic, high-availability systems • Solid understanding of PostgreSQL or MySQL • Experience with background job processing (Sidekiq or similar) • Familiarity with REST APIs and third-party integrations • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments • Strong communication and leadership skills Desired Skills & Experience • Experience in iGaming, betting, fintech, or other regulated industries • AWS cloud experience • Experience with event-driven or microservice architectures • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines • Exposure to compliance, security, or fraud-prevention systems What You Will Be Doing Tech Breakdown • 70% Ruby on Rails / Backend Systems • 15% PostgreSQL / Data Layer • 15% Cloud Infrastructure & Integrations (AWS, third parties) Daily Responsibilities • 40% Hands-On Development & Code Reviews • 35% Management Duties (1:1s, mentoring, planning, hiring) • 25% Team Collaboration (Product, DevOps, Compliance) The Offer • Equity You Will Receive The Following Benefits • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance • Vacation Time • Stock Options Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis now and in the future.
