Elastic Engineer This role involves leading a large-scale network migration and ongoing operations for the U.S. Army, managing a complex enterprise environment. The candidate will be overseeing operations support staff and directing global network support activities. The company is located in the D.C. Area and will remain 100% remote. Clearance Requirement: Must hold and maintain an active DoD Secret security clearance. What You Will Be Doing • Operate and maintain secure, enterprise-level network solutions for the U.S. Army. • Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to assess legacy environments, evaluate current routing and configurations, and provide migration support for the Army’s global WAN. • Apply expertise in network monitoring, management tools, and techniques to enhance operations. • Develop and optimize network monitoring dashboards, views, and data ingest from legacy devices into the AGUN solution. • Support virtualization and containerized infrastructure for network monitoring applications. • Identify strategies for network optimization and resource management using performance and monitoring tools. • Partner with cybersecurity and IA teams to ensure DoD compliance and integrate monitoring data into SIEM solutions. • Create technical documentation, including diagrams, workflows, and system designs, using modern collaboration and diagramming tools. Required Skills & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years (additional applicable experience may substitute for a degree). • Active DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+) or equivalent required before start. • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized infrastructure for network applications. • Proficiency with Elastic, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK) for data ingest, storage, processing, and visualization. • Strong Linux knowledge and experience. • Expertise with Event, SNMP v3, and Performance Management. • Familiarity with Kafka and Live Action. • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM). • Proficiency with enterprise network management tools such as Palo Alto Panorama, Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA, or Junos Space. • Experience implementing DoD STIGs and hardening network infrastructure. • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex network issues in a team environment. • Flexibility to work non-standard shifts to meet network migration objectives.
