Description Mosaic Dental Collective (MDC) is looking for a Billing Specialist to join our RCM team. An MDC Billing Specialist plays a crucial role in the administrative and financial operations of our dental practices. This position involves managing the billing process, insurance claims, and ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement for dental services provided to patients. The Dental Billing Specialist interacts with both patients and insurance companies, ensuring that financial transactions are accurately recorded and that the practice remains compliant with relevant regulations. This position will report to the Regional Billing Supervisor. This role will be offered in a hybrid remote space, with the expectation of being on site minimum one day a month. The wage range for this position is $24 - $30 per hour depending on experience. What You’ll Be Accountable For: Insurance Claims Processing: Prepare and submit insurance claims for dental procedures to various insurance companies. This involves accurately coding procedures using CDT (Current Dental Terminology) codes and following specific insurance guidelines. Billing: Generate Insurance Claims for services rendered, detailing procedures performed and including appropriate documentation. Ensure accuracy and clarity in billing records. Resolving Rejections: Investigate and resolve any practice management software or clearinghouse rejections in relation to initial claim submission. Ensure accuracy with patient and insurance demographic information and all required documentation with the intention to maximize payor reimbursement. Communication: Communicate with office billing contact, other departments and clinical teams regarding insurance policies and procedures. Read and relay information reported on explanations of benefits (EOBs) and assist in resolving billing discrepancies. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain organized records of billing activities, insurance correspondence, and payment history. Generate reports related to billing and collections as needed. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with dental office staff, including front desk personnel, dentists, and dental assistants, to ensure accurate documentation of procedures and proper billing practices. Continuing Education: Stay informed about changes in dental billing codes, insurance policies, and billing regulations through ongoing training and professional development. Other duties as needed. AR Support Follow-up on Claims: Monitor the status of submitted claims, track payments, and follow up on outstanding claims that require additional information or resubmission. Appeals and Denials: Handle claim denials or rejections by analyzing the reasons for denial and resubmitting claims with necessary corrections or additional. Other duties as needed. Schedule: 8 hour days 8am-4:30pm hybrid remote, with quarterly on site days in the central office in Vancouver, WA Requirements Your Background: Minimum of 1 year experience within a Billing Specialist or Billing Coordinator role required. 3 years of experience preferred. Minimum of 1 year hands on experience supporting AR functions within a Billing Specialist role required. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in medical billing or related field is a plus. Knowledge of dental terminology, CDT codes, and dental insurance procedures. Proficiency in using dental practice management software and billing systems. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Excellent communication skills for patient interactions and insurance correspondence. Problem-solving skills to address billing discrepancies and claim denials. Familiarity with insurance guidelines and regulations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills to manage billing records and claims effectively. Work Environment The position requires the ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time and communicate effectively with a diverse audience in person, by phone and computer.
