Job Title: Safety Engineer I - Power Company Overview: Mortenson is a leading construction and real estate development company known for its commitment to safety, innovation, and sustainability. Role Overview: As a Safety Engineer I in Power Delivery, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and compliance of power infrastructure projects. This position requires extensive travel and hands-on involvement in safety management to protect workers and meet regulatory standards. What You'll Do: - You will travel 100% of the time with regular rotations home every 3 weeks to oversee safety on project sites. - You will implement and enforce safety policies and procedures specific to power delivery projects. - You will conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions. - You will collaborate with project teams to develop safety plans and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements. - You will investigate incidents and near-misses, documenting findings and facilitating corrective measures. - You will provide safety training and support to field personnel to promote a culture of safety. - You will maintain accurate safety records and prepare reports for management review. - You will stay current with industry best practices and safety regulations to continuously improve safety programs. What You Bring: - You have an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field. - You have 1-3 years of experience in safety engineering or a similar role, preferably in power delivery or construction. - You possess strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards. - You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse teams. - You are able to travel extensively and adapt to a dynamic work environment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with power delivery or electrical construction projects. - Certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour, CSP, or CHST. - Familiarity with safety management software and reporting tools. - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lead safety initiatives.
