Role Overview: As an Electrical Commissioning Engineer II within Mortenson's Energy Storage and Solutions Group, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful electrical commissioning of energy storage projects. You will provide technical support throughout the construction process, collaborating closely with project teams to guarantee system performance and compliance. What You'll Do: - You will lead electrical commissioning activities for energy storage systems, ensuring all components meet design specifications and safety standards. - You will collaborate with construction teams, vendors, and clients to resolve technical issues and optimize system performance. - You will develop and execute detailed commissioning plans, test procedures, and documentation. - You will perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on electrical systems to identify and rectify faults. - You will ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and project requirements. - You will communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate commissioning schedules and deliverables. - You will support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback and lessons learned from commissioning activities. What You Bring: - Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical commissioning or related engineering roles, preferably in energy storage or renewable energy sectors. - Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and protection devices. - Proficiency with commissioning tools, testing equipment, and electrical schematics. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS) commissioning. - Familiarity with relevant industry standards such as IEEE, NEC, and UL. - Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification. - Experience using project management software and commissioning databases.
