Job Title: Data Center Structured Cabling - Project Engineer II Company Overview: Mortenson is a leading national construction and real estate development company known for its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and quality. Role Overview: As a Project Engineer II on the Data Center Structured Cabling Team, you will play a critical role in managing and resolving field coordination issues to ensure seamless project execution. Your expertise will support the team in delivering high-quality structured cabling solutions for data center projects. What You'll Do: - You will review and analyze project plans and field conditions to identify and resolve coordination issues. - You will collaborate closely with project team members, subcontractors, and clients to ensure alignment and timely communication. - You will manage documentation and reporting related to project progress and field changes. - You will support the development and implementation of structured cabling designs and standards. - You will assist in scheduling and coordinating field activities to meet project deadlines. - You will participate in site visits and inspections to verify installation quality and compliance. - You will troubleshoot technical challenges and provide practical solutions to maintain project momentum. - You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the structured cabling team. What You Bring: - Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering, preferably in data center structured cabling or related infrastructure. - Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems, standards, and best practices. - Proficiency with project management and CAD software. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with diverse teams. - Ability to analyze complex technical information and provide clear recommendations. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with large-scale data center projects. - Familiarity with industry certifications such as BICSI or PMP. - Background in electrical or telecommunications engineering. - Experience working in a fast-paced construction environment.
