Role Overview: As a Construction Innovation Engineer within Mortenson's Solar Operating Group, you will play a critical role in driving innovation and industrialization in solar construction projects. Your focus will be on evaluating and implementing new technologies, products, and processes to improve efficiency, safety, and quality across our solar projects. What You'll Do: - You will evaluate emerging technologies and innovative products to determine their applicability to solar construction. - You will collaborate with project teams to pilot and implement new processes that enhance project delivery. - You will analyze data and feedback to measure the success and impact of innovation initiatives. - You will communicate findings and best practices across the organization to promote continuous improvement. - You will support the development of standardized procedures and tools to industrialize solar construction methods. - You will work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and field operations to integrate innovations. - You will stay current with industry trends and advancements in solar technology and construction methods. - You will contribute to safety improvements by identifying innovative solutions that reduce risks on site. What You Bring: - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. - Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction engineering or innovation roles, preferably within renewable energy or solar sectors. - Strong knowledge of solar construction processes and technologies. - Proficiency in data analysis and project management tools. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams. - Ability to think critically and solve complex problems with innovative solutions. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with industrialization or modular construction techniques. - Familiarity with software tools such as BIM, AutoCAD, or similar design and planning software. - Previous involvement in sustainability or green building initiatives. - Certifications related to project management or innovation methodologies.
