Receive, inspect, store, deliver, and ship materials and supplies while maintaining inventory records and assisting with asset management.
High school diploma or GED, six months related experience, forklift and equipment operation skills, valid Illinois driver's license, and ability to perform physical tasks.
Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor/Director of Purchasing, the Warehouse Worker is responsible for performing routine manual and clerical work including receiving, storing, issuing, delivering and shipping of materials and supplies. The Warehouse Worker is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing/supporting programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Receives, unloads and unpacks incoming materials, supplies and equipment. Inspects incoming freight for damage and verifies package count prior to signing carrier freight bills. 2. Verifies accuracy of shipments by counting and comparing description and code numbers with information on packing list or invoice and also with the online purchase order system. Records any discrepancies or damage. 3. Stores items according to established warehouse procedures. 4. Delivers received items and obtains appropriate signed receipt from department. 5. Prepares (wrapping, boxing, labeling) outgoing freight and loads freight on truck/car as necessary. 6. Assists in maintaining current inventory records and takes inventory as directed. 7. May assist with the fixed asset process which includes but is not limited to tagging of assets and collecting asset data for Colleague. 8. Assists various campus departments move assets with usage of forklift, pallets, pallet jack, etc. as necessary. 9. Assists with staging inventory for auction/donation process as necessary. 10. Handles claims of damaged or mis-delivered items. 11. Performs various filing and clerical duties. 12. Maintains work area in orderly manner. 13. May perform visual safety checks on operating equipment as necessary. Performs related duties as assigned Education/Experience • Minimum of a High school diploma or high school equivalency (GED). • Minimum of six months experience in related field required. • Experience with fork lift truck and other equipment preferred. • Must possess valid Illinois vehicle driver’s license.
