J*MOR Construction Services, Inc. is a locally owned and operated contractor seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator & Foreperson* to join our growing team of highly motivated professionals. We are looking for a reliable, hardworking individual with strong leadership skills and extensive underground utility experience. Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply! Key Responsibilities • Review daily work plans with the field manager and determine the safest, most efficient approach to tasks. • Safely operate heavy equipment in accordance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards. • Identify hazards and unsafe conditions; maintain a strong safety-first mindset. • Perform routine equipment maintenance (cleaning, greasing, oiling). • Ensure safe working distances for all personnel around equipment, especially in tight areas. • Lead and supervise crew members on utility, storm, sanitary sewer, dirt work, and repair projects. • Make informed decisions to optimize equipment usage and productivity. • Follow all company policies, procedures, and equipment repair/maintenance protocols. • Perform general labor or driving duties as required (if qualified). • Promote teamwork and clear communication on the job site. Qualifications Experience & Education • Minimum 5 years heavy equipment operating experience required. • Minimum 5 years underground utility, storm, sanitary sewer, and dirt experience required. • Minimum 2 years supervisory/foreperson experience required. • Valid driver’s license required. • High school diploma or GED preferred. • Related construction experience required. Skills & Knowledge • Strong hand, foot, and eye coordination for precise and safe equipment operation. • Ability to work in physically demanding environments and perform maintenance in tight/awkward positions. • Ability to operate equipment for extended periods. • Strong communication (written and verbal) and time-management skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. • Required vision abilities: close, color, and peripheral vision. Other Requirements • Must pass a background check. • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen. • This is not an operator only position. You may be required to perform driver (if qualified) and laborer work on all job sites. Compensation & Benefits • Competitive pay (commensurate with experience). • Additional benefits may be discussed during the interview.
