The anticipated hiring range for this position will be $55,517 to $81,973, based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR ABS is seeking individuals for an entry-level position involving manual work such as loading and unloading trucks and performing general warehouse duties. What You'll Be Doing The Driver Helper & Warehouse Associate positions are responsible for assisting the Truck Driver in the unloading and delivery of all liquor, wine, and beer products to licensees and County Liquor stores. • Unloads alcoholic beverages from trucks setting up roller rack or hand lifting cases of kegs from truck; delivers merchandise into customers' storage areas. • Checks orders placed on trucks. • Loads merchandise and returns from customers onto warehouse trucks. • Guides truck drivers when manoeuvring trucks. • May check shipment invoices, count merchandise, and keep records of deliveries. • Fills orders by locating and transporting cases of merchandise to designated places in warehouse, using hand trucks or carts; moves loaded pallets using electric hand jacks. • Operates various equipment such as forklifts, pallet jack, and handcarts. • Assembles damaged cases for repacking; records breakage and places broken or unsaleable merchandise in secured area of warehouse. • Tags beer kegs that are damaged or leaking; rotates beer kegs to ensure shipment of fresh product. • Performs general cleanup duties in warehouse, sweeping up debris, waste, and broken merchandise. • May take physical inventory. • Performs related duties as required. Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment medical exam, drug screening, and lifting evaluation. Failure to meet these requirements may result in disqualification. This position involves frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of heavy items (up to 160 lbs), and operation of warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand carts. Work is performed in warehouse and delivery environments, including cold storage and outdoor conditions. A criminal background check will be conducted on the selected candidate prior to appointment and will be a significant factor in the hiring decision. Minimum Qualifications Experience: One (1) year general warehouse experience. Education: Ability to read and write in English. Equivalency: None. Ability: Ability to independently move objects weighing up to 160 pounds. LICENSE: Possession and maintenance at all times of a valid Class "C" (or equivalent) driver’s license from the applicant's state of residence. AGE: Individuals appointed to this position must be at least 18 years of age. Medical Protocol: This position requires successful completion of a pre-employment medical evaluation, which includes a physical examination and drug screening. Preferred Criteria, Interview Preferences All Applicants will be reviewed by the Office of Human Resources (OHR) for minimum qualifications. Those applicants who meet minimum qualifications will be rated “Qualified,” placed on the Referred List, and may be considered for an interview. Preference for interviews will be given to applicants with experience in the following: • Multiple years of experience working in a warehouse environment. • Multiple years of onloading/offloading merchandise. • Experience working in customer service.
