With over 200 agents/offices distributed from coast to coast, MODE Global operates under a family of businesses and brands, delivering as a premier full-service solutions provider to the logistics industry.Job Title: Inside Sales & Logistics Specialist Department: International Product Line Reports To: Director of Logistics/VP of International Employment Type: Full-Time Role Overview The Inside Sales & Logistics Specialist is a dual-function role responsible for bridging the gap between commercial sales and operational execution. You will lead the procurement and quoting process for end-to-end international logistics, supporting high-stakes RFPs, spot market opportunities, and recurring rate management. This role is pivotal in ensuring competitive pricing across all modes of transport-including air, ocean, drayage, and surface freight-while providing customers with sophisticated financial and tracking visibility. Key Responsibilities 1. Quoting & Procurement Excellence • RFP & Rate Management: Lead the response for Request for Proposals (RFPs) by gathering internal operational data and external market rates to furnish comprehensive bids. • Multi-Modal Pricing: Source and execute competitive pricing for air, ocean (NVOCC), drayage, transload, Full Truckload (FTL), and Less-than-Truckload (LTL) services. • Spot & Recurring Rates: Manage high-volume spot quote requests with urgency while maintaining and updating recurring rate sheets for long-term contract clients. • Vendor Negotiation: Negotiate with carriers and international freight forwarders to secure optimal capacity and pricing, leveraging current 2026 market trends. 2. Reporting & Analytics • Financial Visibility: Support the development of financial reports using Descartes IES Oneview, SalesForce, and other online tools to track freight spend, audit invoices, and identify cost-saving drivers. • Customer Dashboards: Create and maintain advanced Excel-based tracking sheets and KPIs to provide customers with end-to-end shipment visibility. • Market Intelligence: Monitor industry indexes (e.g., Cass Freight Index) to provide sales teams with intelligence on rate volatility and capacity shifts. 3. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Sales Support: Act as the primary technical point of contact for the commercial sales team to ensure all client commitments are operationally feasible and priced for profitability. • Operations Alignment: Work closely with operations to ensure quoted services align with current carrier capabilities and transit time realities. • Experience: 5+ years in international freight forwarding, inside sales, or logistics procurement. • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and experience with logistics procurement tools like Ariba and Jaeggar. • Logistics Knowledge: Strong understanding of Incoterms, international shipping documentation, and multi-modal transport regulations. • Communication: Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to convey complex logistics solutions to both internal teams and external clients. Preferred Skills • Experience with CRM and TMS (Transportation Management System) platforms. • Knowledge of 2026 trade policies, tariff fluctuations, and global supply chain dynamics. • Self-starter, self-motivated, resourceful and responsive • Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills • Ability to multi-task, set priorities, organize work, and implement action plans Why MODE?
