Mockingbird Legal is a small firm in Clackamas County, Oregon Position Overview Mockingbird Law is seeking an experienced and compassionate Family Law Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law, outstanding communication skills, and a genuine commitment to helping clients navigate sensitive legal matters. Key Responsibilities • Represent clients in family law matters including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, adoption, and domestic violence cases. • Draft, review, and file legal documents such as petitions, motions, agreements, and court pleadings. • Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies tailored to each client’s unique situation. • Attend court hearings, trials, mediations, and settlement conferences as needed. • Maintain regular and clear communication with clients, ensuring they are informed throughout the legal process. • Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients' best interests in and out of court. • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to deliver comprehensive legal solutions. • Stay current on developments in family law and participate in ongoing professional development. Qualifications · Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. · Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction. · Minimum of 2-5 years of experience practicing family law is preferred. · Strong written and verbal communication skills. · Excellent negotiation and problem-solving abilities. · Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently. · Empathy, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive client matters. · Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.
