Job title Phlebotomist / Medical Assistant On The Road Job summary We are seeking an experienced mobile Phlebotomist or Medical Assistant to handle 1 to 5 blood draw visits per week. This role involves traveling to patient homes and senior living facilities across the Metro Detroit tri county area. Our patient population is primarily geriatric, so strong skill with difficult venous access is required. Compensation The amount earned per visit is based on driving distance and coverage area. • Pay range: 30 to 40 dollars per visit • Rate varies based on travel distance • Additional visits at the same location may be paid separately Primary responsibilities • Travel to patient homes, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes within the tri county region • Perform venipuncture and capillary collections, including challenging draws • Work confidently with geriatric patients and fragile veins • Verify patient identity and orders • Label and prepare specimens for transport • Document procedures, times, and outcomes accurately • Communicate clearly with patients, families, and facility staff • Maintain all phlebotomy equipment and supplies in your vehicle • Follow infection control and OSHA safety requirements • Update the office regarding completed draws or any complications Required qualifications • One to two years of recent phlebotomy experience • Strong experience with geriatric patients and difficult draws • Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician or Medical Assistant preferred • Reliable personal vehicle with valid drivers license and insurance • Ability to work independently in field settings • Attention to detail • Professional and calm patient interaction skills Schedule • One to five draws per week • Daytime visits with some flexibility • Part time or per diem nature Work setting • Patient homes • Assisted living facilities • Skilled nursing facilities What we are looking for • Someone comfortable with low weekly volume but high skill requirements • Someone dependable, punctual, and able to communicate availability • Someone skilled with tough geriatric draws How to apply Submit your resume and a short note describing your experience with geriatric patients and difficult draws, the areas you can cover, and your general weekly availability.
