ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION The Minnesota School Based Health Alliance (MNSBHA) is a capacity building organization for school-based health center growth and improvement. Our mission is to optimize health and education outcomes for all young people in Minnesota through access to integrated health care in schools. Our vision is to see every student in Minnesota have access to healthcare that supports their personal well-being, engagement in school and success in learning. MNSBHA is an affiliate of the national School-Based Health Alliance. Our work is to: • Respond to school districts’ requests for assistance with developing or improving their school-based health centers • Educate healthcare partners on core competencies of school-based health centers • Assist with coordination between districts, healthcare partners, and state agencies • Provide training in initiating, sustaining and improving school-based health care • Collaborate with the Minnesota Department of Health to assess the role of School Based Health Centers (SBHCs) in the student safety net POSITION SUMMARY The Special Projects Manager will lead and support initiatives that advance MNSBHA’s mission and strengthen the impact of school-based health care across Minnesota. This position requires an individual with direct SBHC experience, strong project management skills, the ability to engage in public speaking and community outreach, and proficiency with technology to support program operations and communications. This position will require understanding of the education, healthcare and public health environment. Hours are M-F, daytime. This is a full-time, two-year contract position with benefits. As we are a statewide organization, we are hiring statewide. We are officed in the Twin Cities Metro Area. This employee will live in MN, may work from home or in-office and will travel throughout the state. This employee will be required to work in-person, on average, one day per month. Initial 2-week training will be in-person. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Project Leadership & Management • Lead special projects that advance MNSBHA’s strategic plan, with a focus on expanding and strengthening SBHCs statewide • Manage timelines, deliverables, and reporting for projects, ensuring accountability and high-quality outcomes • Coordinate with Executive Director and Program Manager to align project goals with organizational priorities Outreach & Stakeholder Engagement • Represent MNSBHA at meetings, conferences, and community events, including regular public speaking engagements • Build and maintain strong relationships with school districts, health care partners, community leaders, youth, and state agencies • Provide technical assistance and training to districts and partners on SBHC operations, telehealth, and billing (e.g., Medicaid) Communications & Technology • Support the design and implementation of digital resources, tools, and platforms that strengthen communication with members and partners • Provide technical assistance in data collection and reporting • Utilize data systems for evaluation, reporting, and quality assurance of projects Organizational Development Support • Collaborate with staff and board on advancing organizational growth including grant writing, fundraising, and report • Manage relationships with patience, kindness and respect in a diverse environment • Contribute to planning of annual events, trainings, and statewide summits PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and experience in Public Health, Community Health, Education, Nursing or a related field • Minimum 3-years experience managing details in an education, healthcare or nonprofit setting • Minimum of 3-5 years of direct experience in school-based health care (SBHC) or related community-based health programs • Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, execution, and evaluation • Strong written and oral communication and facilitation skills • Technologically proficient, with ability to learn and leverage digital platforms for communication and program delivery (Microsoft products, Hubspot) • Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and advancing student access to health care COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS • Full-time, salaried position with benefits • Two-year secure contract; continuation likely • Flexible work environment
