Experience with ServiceNow, hospitality IT systems, Oracle Opera Cloud PMS, payment processing, PowerShell scripting, networking basics, and PCI DSS compliance.
Our global hospitality client is seeking a Technical Systems Engineer to join their Global Payments Technology Team. This position is integral to ensuring seamless integration and operation of payment systems across their international hotel portfolio. The ideal candidate combines strong technical acumen with hospitality systems knowledge and thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments. Key Responsibilities • Deliver high-quality technical support through ServiceNow, resolving incidents and service requests with efficiency and ownership. • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across payment gateways, terminals, and middleware, partnering with vendors and internal stakeholders. • Maintain and enhance integrations with Oracle Opera Cloud PMS, ensuring stability and reliability across hotel operations. • Leverage PowerShell and automation tools to optimize workflows, enhance visibility, and support operational reporting. • Manage connectivity for POS and payment devices, addressing network configurations, connectivity, and troubleshooting as needed. • Develop and maintain clear technical documentation including SOPs, knowledge base articles, and integration guides. • Collaborate across global teams using Jira and other tools to track issues, drive progress, and deliver resolutions. • Support compliance initiatives, maintaining alignment with PCI DSS and data security standards. • Contribute to ongoing system integration projects, expanding understanding of PMS, POS, and payment ecosystems. • Monitor critical systems using tools like Datadog or Splunk to identify and address issues proactively. Qualifications & Experience • Experience supporting users through ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM platforms. • Background in hospitality IT with hands-on exposure to property-level systems. • Working knowledge of Oracle Opera Cloud PMS. • Understanding of payment processing concepts including tokenization, reconciliation, and transaction flow. • Scripting experience with PowerShell for automation or reporting. • Familiarity with networking fundamentals (IP, ports, VPNs, firewalls). • Awareness of PCI DSS compliance principles. Preferred Skills • Proven troubleshooting experience in multi-system, integrated environments. • Strong documentation and communication abilities. • Experience using Jira for issue tracking and collaboration. • Exposure to payment device management and cloud-based integrations (REST APIs). • Experience with system monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog or Splunk. Details • Remote role based on Central Time (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST, Monday to Friday). • Experience with hospitality IT systems and credit card payment technologies strongly preferred.
