PowerSystems Subnet Project Manager | PMP or Agile certification preferred Location: Dallas, TX Work Arrangement: Hybrid, three days onsite each week Contract Type: 12+ Month Contract Start Date: January 2026 Overview Our client, a large, highly structured electric utility organization is seeking a PowerSystems Subnet Project Manager to lead a critical System Protection program, supporting post-design through implementation across multiple stations. This role oversees technology projects that strengthen grid reliability, ensure compliance with industry standards, and advance capabilities across System Protection and related technical teams. The position requires strong project leadership, technology implementation experience, and a solid understanding of NERC compliance. Key Responsibilities • Manage multiple concurrent projects, balancing priorities, resources, and timelines to meet defined objectives. • Partner closely with System Protection teams, including Compliance Support, Conceptual Design, Relay Settings, Relay and SCADA Support, and Relay Standards and Studies. • Develop and maintain detailed project plans covering scope, schedule, milestones, resource needs, and budgets. • Ensure all project activities align with NERC compliance standards and established organizational methodologies. • Collaborate with Technology, Operations, and Compliance teams to coordinate project execution. • Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate issues as appropriate. • Provide structured, consistent status reporting to System Protection leadership and Technology stakeholders. • Manage project budgets, ensuring responsible use of resources and identifying opportunities for cost optimization. • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including status reports, RAID logs, and post-implementation lessons learned. • Lead technology implementation and data conversion activities, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems. • Work with stakeholders to define, prioritize, and deliver technology requirements supporting System Protection initiatives. • Ensure all deliverables meet required quality, testing, and operational standards. Required Qualifications • Five or more years of project management experience in a technical, engineering, or utility environment. • Proven ability to lead multiple complex projects simultaneously and deliver against objectives. • Hands-on experience with both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse technical teams. • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including risk identification and mitigation. • Proficiency with project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence. • Demonstrated experience leading technology implementations and data conversion efforts. • Understanding of data mapping, conversion testing, and related disciplines. • Solid knowledge of NERC standards and compliance requirements. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in a regulated utility environment. • Understanding of electric grid operations, relay protection, and system protection concepts. • PMP or Agile certification. • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cost-management practices. • Familiarity with enterprise technology environments, infrastructure systems, and analytics tools. • Experience working within established PMO frameworks in large organizations.
