After School Child Care Enrichment Specialist (Classroom Teacher) Do you love working with youth? Do you desire a job that makes a difference everyday? M & M Extra Care is a Before/After School and Summer Camp program located within select area elementary schools. We are currently looking for qualified and motivated Enrichment Specialists for our Grand River location in Livonia and our Westfield Academy location in Redford. Our Aftercare Specialists work at least 20 hours per week (Monday-Friday from 2:30 to 6:30 pm), with additional Before School hours possibly available from 6:30 to 8:30 am, plus paid planning and training time. Specialists are asked to commit to the full school year. You must be available all five days per week for the afternoon shift. We desire responsible, self-motivated, creative, caring, patient and hardworking individuals to join our team. We ask applicants to commit for the remainder of the school year at a minimum and summer camp hours are also available. Many team members have stayed with us several years and growth opportunities are provided. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with a high school Diploma or GED. Experience working with groups of school age youth, such as in a childcare setting, facilitating a classroom, church youth groups, summer camps or coaching sports teams, is REQUIRED. Our programs run September through mid-June, along with summer program opportunities in June through August. All school year shifts are as listed above, between 2:30-6:30 pm M-F, with the possibility of morning hours. Shifts can vary during summer camp. As an Enrichment Specialist you will: • Make a difference in the lives of the children daily • Work directly with students, leading activities in the classroom • Work with the Site Director and other staff to foster a safe and effective environment for school-age children • Be assigned your own classroom of students within a select age group ranging from Young-Fives through 8th grades (depending on personal training and/or interest) • Develop weekly lesson plans of activities including Social Emotional Learning, STEAM, group games, arts and crafts and other developmentally appropriate activities for that group of children • Be a part of a High Quality program that participates in Great Start to Quality. • Professional Development will be provided and will include: • Annual Fall Training/ New Hire Training • Recurring paid on-line training throughout the year • Annual CPR/First Aid training Benefits Include · Competitive pay (Starting at $15-$18/hr) · Paid time-off · Select tuition reimbursement or TEACH Scholarship sponsorship · Opportunities for advancement and promotion · 401 K We offer competitive pay, dependent upon experience, the ability to earn paid time off and holidays and a wonderful and collaborative working environment.
