Role Description This is a full-time, on-site or remote depending on qualifications as a Commercial Estimator / Project Manager — Glass & Glazing role based in Syracuse New York. The role involves preparing detailed estimates for commercial glass and glazing projects, including reviewing architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine material, labor, and installation requirements. The Commercial Estimator / Project Manager coordinates project planning, develops budgets and schedules, and oversees projects from award through completion, ensuring alignment with contract requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include communicating with contractors, architects, suppliers, and internal teams, tracking project progress and costs, processing change orders, and resolving site issues in a timely and professional manner. The role also includes maintaining accurate documentation, supporting procurement activities, and contributing to continuous improvement of estimating and project management processes. Qualifications • Strong construction estimating skills specific to commercial glass, glazing, and related building envelope systems. • Demonstrated project management abilities, including scheduling, coordination of trades, and oversight of project milestones. • Experience with budgeting and cost control, including tracking expenses, managing change orders, and working within bid constraints. • Effective communication skills for collaborating with architects, general contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. • Understanding of roofs and building assemblies as they relate to glazing, curtain wall, storefront, and façade systems. • Proficiency with construction drawings, specifications, and takeoff tools; familiarity with estimating or project management software. • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. • Knowledge of commercial construction practices, safety requirements, and relevant building codes; glass and glazing industry experience preferred. • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or a degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is beneficial.
