Minnesota Women Lawyers (MWL), a 1,200-member, statewide women’s bar association, seeks a dynamic and strategic team member to serve as its Membership & Communications Coordinator. The Membership & Communications Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating key organizational functions including: 1) member recruitment, retention, and engagement; 2) strategic communications; 3) volunteer relations; and 4) administrative tasks. The Membership & Communications Coordinator will report directly to the Executive Director and work in collaboration with the Program & Projects Coordinator. Key Responsibilities Member Recruitment, Retention & Engagement A. Provide exceptional service and support to MWL members, prospective members, the legal community, and key stakeholders, in the effort to foster and maintain strong, long-term engagement with MWL, in the advancement of its mission. B. Work with the Executive Director to develop membership dues income goals and implement related efforts to meet those goals. C. Develop, plan, and coordinate member recruitment, retention, and engagement efforts. D. Coordinate and conduct MWL's annual membership campaign and renewal process in an efficient and effective manner. Through cultivation and stewardship efforts, help elevate MWL’s Premier Member campaign. E. Maintain MWL’s membership database through its Content Management System (CMS), ensuring all records are current, complete, and secure. Consider current and updated CMS functionality and maximize use as it relates to MWL’s needs. Strategic Communications A. In consideration of MWL’s current members, prospective members, key stakeholders, and the broader legal community, develop and facilitate MWL’s overall communications strategy, ensuring MWL’s presence is dynamic, relevant, innovative, and mission-driven. B. Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and publicity efforts to ensure MWL is best-positioned to work towards its mission and achieve its strategic goals. C. Coordinate technology and related applications, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency for all MWL programs and projects; its online presence; and its administrative functions. D. Provide communications support to the MWL Foundation as assigned. Volunteer Relations and Administrative Tasks A. In collaboration with staff and leadership, coordinate and implement the recruitment, engagement, and retention of MWL member volunteers into leadership positions across the organization, both to support an enhanced membership experience and to further MWL’s mission and strategic goals. B. Participate in staff-led trainings and provide ongoing support to MWL’s volunteers. C. Provide direct administrative support to assigned leadership groups, including MWL’s Affinity Groups. D. Build and maintain strategic relationships, both inside and outside of the organization, to further MWL’s mission and strategic plan. Become a trusted representative of MWL to members, prospective members, funders, community partners, and key stakeholders. E. Engage in other development work as assigned, including support of MWL Partners and event sponsors.
