Mill's Tavern Restaurant: Events & Dining Room Manager Job Description: The Events and Dining Room Manager role at Mill’s Tavern (the “Restaurant”) spearheads the Events Department, leads the Restaurant’s dining staff, and works shifts in the Restaurant’s dining room. This role partners with the General Manager, Executive Chef, and Lead Supervisor to ensure all events and dining services are executed seamlessly and to the highest standard. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the Events Department and manage all aspects of the Restaurant’s events, from client consultation to final execution. Collaborate with the Restaurant’s culinary and management teams to create memorable event experiences. • Draft and finalize event contracts, outlining all terms, conditions, and costs with clarity and precision. • Develop event proposals, manage client budgets, and conduct post-event financial analyses to ensure profitability. • Orchestrate the daily flow of the Restaurant’s dining service to create a seamless and exceptional dining experience for every guest, from start to finish. • Oversee the inventory of all dining room essentials, such as linens, glassware, silverware, and menus. • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and private patrons to encourage repeat business. • Train, schedule, and supervise seasoned front-of-house staff, fostering a positive and professional team environment. • Champion a culture of exceptional guest satisfaction by personally engaging with diners and ensuring that all needs are met with grace and professionalism. • Ensure that the dining room and all service procedures adhere to health and safety regulations. • Manage associate performance, write performance reviews, and provide in-the-moment coaching and feedback. • Assist with hiring, coaching, and disciplinary actions for team members. Qualifications: • 3 or more years of experience leading an events department is required. • Proven experience in a fine dining setting is essential. • Proficiency with restaurant-specific software, such as reservation systems, event management platforms, and POS systems. • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are required. • A professional, team-oriented attitude and a commitment to excellence are required. Work Environment: • This full-time role requires 45-50 hours over a five-day work week, with flexibility to work nights, weekends, and some holidays. • Works primarily in a climate controlled environment with typical safety and health hazards associated with restaurant operations. • Spends a significant amount of time on the move, traversing through dining rooms and kitchens, including, but not limited to, ascending or descending stairs. • Responsible for physical activities including, but not limited to, using equipment, position self to properly complete tasks, ascend and descend to heights of 20 feet or more, move and transport merchandise on a frequent basis: should be able to lift and move 50 lbs of material on a regular basis. • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
